The documentary film ELON MUSK UNVEILED – The Tesla Experiment by Italian director Andreas Pichler, who hails from Bolzano, will open, as Italian premiere, the 39th BOLZANO FILM FESTIVAL BOZEN on 10 April 2026.

The Bolzano Film Festival Bozen is opening submissions for the Local Heroes and Small Languages DOC sections of its 39th edition, which will take place from April 10 to 19, 2026.

Outstanding commitment from South Tyrol, Tyrol and Trentino is being recognised: the EuregioYoungJury of the Bolzano Film Festival Bozen has been honoured as a cross-border project.

Das BFFB38 gibt die teilnehmenden Filme der Sektion Local Heroes bekannt, die ein vielfältiges Spektrum filmischer Handschriften aus der Euregio (Tirol, Südtirol und Trentino) präsentiert. Hier begegnen sich junge Talente und etablierte Filmschaffende, Dokumentarisches trifft auf Fiktion, klassische Erzählweisen auf experimentelle Formen. Gezeigt werden Kurz-, Mittel- und Langfilme, die neue und ungewohnte Perspektiven eröffnen. Von den eingereichten Filmen wurden 16 für das diesjährige Programm ausgewählt – darunter jeweils zwei Lang- und Mittellangfilme sowie zwölf Kurzfilme.

Das Bolzano Film Festival Bozen (BFFB) freut sich, eine neue Auszeichnung ankündigen zu können: Den mit 10.000 Euro dotierten Verleihförderpreis der Autonome Region Trentino-Südtirol. Ziel dieser Förderung ist es, dem italienischen Publikum qualitativ hochwertige Filme zugänglich zu machen und den Verleih unabhängiger Filme zu unterstützen.
