BFFB Euregio Young Jury

How gripping is the plot? Are the actors and actresses convincing? Does the film reflect the world we live in? These are the questions the EuregioYoungJury asks itself during an intense week at the BFFB.

Following a two-day workshop, the youth jury screens and assesses specially selected feature films and documentaries and awards the EuregioYoungJury Award. This project was launched in 2016 by Helene Christanell in collaboration with Euregio.

Applications are open to students aged between 16 and 18 from South Tyrol, Tyrol and Trentino (years 3–5 of upper secondary school / years 10–13) who are interested in learning about the various aspects of film production, discovering what the work of a film critic entails, and who can discuss the films they have seen with enthusiasm.

Young film enthusiasts should submit a short video explaining why they are interested in being part of a film jury and providing a strictly personal review of a film of their choice. A panel of experts will select the nine jury members from the applications received, three from each region or province.

The students will be supported by two tutors: Arnold Schnötzinger (Vienna, film critic) and Maria Rita Lupi (Bolzano, former teacher of Italian as a second language and lecturer), as well as by Irene Egger, an educational officer at the Jugenddienst Bozen and a collaborator with the Film Festival.

The EuregioYoungJury is a project organised by the Bolzano Filmfestival Bozen, in collaboration with the Jugenddienst Bozen, funded by the Euregio Tyrol-South Tyrol-Trentino and supported by the Pedagogical Department of the German Education Authority.

Information regarding the application process and the application deadline will be available in November 2026.
