In 1969, Mariona was arrested and imprisoned in a reformatory ruled by the Women's Welfare Agency. In 2023, she and her daughter look back to piece together her story.
Sofia Esteve is a screenwriter and director. She studied Audiovisual Communication at Pompeu Fabra University. Her short film Perpetua Felicidad (2022) was a candidate for the 38th Goya Awards. In 2024, she co-directed the documentary Gaps, now touring festivals. She is developing Los Andares, which won multiple script awards. She also researches LGTBIQ+ film history and teaches in various institutions.
