Franco García (b. 1977, Cusco) is a filmmaker whose debut feature, Southern Winds (2018), premiered at the Lima Film Festival (Peru) and was selected for the Dominican Global Film Festival, Chicago Latino Film Festival, Cine de las Américas Film Festival, and others.
His second feature film, Through Rocks and Clouds (2024), will have its world premiere at the 74th Berlin Film Festival.
In 2008, he won the Peruvian Short Film Award for his short Indie. His following short, Lima, 2011, received the Best Short Film and Best Screenplay Award from the Peruvian Ministry of Culture in 2011 and later won Best Short Film at the Peruvian Film Festival in Paris in 2013.
