23-year-old Hossam starts work in Alexandria in the factory where his father was killed in an accident a month earlier. The job was offered to the family as compensation for his father's death and is intended to secure the family income. Hossam's twelve-year-old brother Maro is determined to go with him and threatens to harm himself otherwise.

Mohamed Rashad - 1980 EGY
Born in Alexandria, Egypt in 1980. After undertaking a two-year filmmaking workshop at the Jesuit Cultural Film School of Alexandria, he directed two short fiction films. His feature-length debut, the documentary Little Eagles, premiered at the Dubai International Film Festival and won the Best Documentary Award at Malmo. Al mosta’mera is his debut fiction feature film.
