On a small Mediterranean island, Ettore and Giovannino, eleven and seven, spend their last summer together. Ettore moves to the mainland. Through Pino’s archive and camera, time becomes shared memory, and the island’s “sciatu” turns into the heartbeat of the entire community.

Sicilian director and writer. His first feature film, Triokala (CSC Production, 2015), received recognition in Italy and abroad. He later wrote and directed Epicentro (Playmaker, 2018), which premiered in the Critics’ Week at the 75th Venice International Film Festival, and Divinations (Qoomoon with Rai Cinema, Les Films d’Ici), which had its world premiere at IDFA in 2020 and theatrical release in 2021. Signals of Life (Qoomoon with Rai Cinema) premiered at the Rome Film Fest in 2023 and was released in theaters in 2024. Sciatunostro is his fourth feature film.
