Nikolaus Geyrhalter is a winner of the Adolf Grimme Prize (2008), and his documentaries have received numerous awards at festivals such as IDFA Amsterdam, Hot Docs Toronto, Visions du Réel Nyon, Duisburg, Munich, Diagonale Graz, and nominations for the Prix Europa and the European Film Award, among many others.
