Elda Isavelina (Zacatecas, Mexico, 1991) is an undisciplined filmmaker, cook, and artist, raised in the Zacatecan semi-desert and currently living in a valley in Tyrol, Austria. Her work intertwines documentary, esotericism, Mexican ritual cuisine, and decolonial storytelling. She holds a double degree in Philosophy and Visual Arts (UAZ) and a Master’s in Theory and Practice of Creative Documentary (Universidad de Barcelona). In 2020, she founded the collective Sindicata for women working in cinema, video, and photography in Zacatecas. Her work has been featured in festivals including DOCS Barcelona, DocsMX, FICUNAM, GIFF, and L’Alternativa.
