Aida leaves Piero for wealthy Marcello, who woos her with promises then abandons
her in a garage with her suitcase. When she seeks him out, he sends his 16-year-old brother Lorenzo. Feeling sorry for her, Lorenzo takes
her to a boarding house and meets her in secret, giving money and affection. The family discovers them, and a priest orders Aida to leave the boy and the town.
