After a less-than-successful career as a pop musician in London, Helen(e) returns to her hometown on the Danube. There she encounters the ghosts of her youth in the form of former bandmates, her childhood sweetheart and a mysterious young horse-lover.

Evi Romen - 1967 ITA
Born in 1967 in Bolzano, she lives and works in Vienna. She studied at the Vienna Film Academy, specializing in cinematography and editing. She has worked as a film editor and writer for over 20 years.
She received awards for short stories, the 2011 Diagonale Award (My Best Enemy), and the 2016 Austrian Film Award (Casanova Variations). In 2017, she won the Carl Mayer Prize for the screenplay Hochwald.
Co-writer of the series M – A City Hunts a Murderer (Berlinale premiere 2019). Her directorial debut, Hochwald (Why Not You), won the Golden Eye at the Zurich Film Festival 2020.
