EuregioYoung
Jury | BFFB 40

How gripping is the plot? Do the actors and actresses win us over? Does the film reflect our own world? These are the questions the EuregioYoungJury asks itself during an intensive week at the film festival.

Following a two-day workshop, the young jury screens and evaluates feature films and documentaries specially selected for them, and awards the EuregioYoungJury Prize. This project was launched in 2016 by Helene Christanell in collaboration with Euregio. In 2026, we will be celebrating its 10th anniversary.

The call for applications is open to pupils aged between 16 and 18 from South Tyrol, Tyrol and Trentino (Years 3–5 of upper secondary school / Years 10–13), who are interested in learning about the diverse areas of the film industry and the working methods of a film critic, and who can discuss films with enthusiasm.

Young people with an interest in film should submit a letter of motivation explaining why they are interested in serving on a film jury and provide a personal statement on a film. From the submissions, a jury of experts will select nine jury members – three from each region or federal state.

The pupils will be supported by the two tutors, Arnold Schnötzinger (Vienna) and Rita Maria Lupi (Bolzano), as well as by Irene Egger, an educational officer at the Bolzano Youth Service and a member of the film festival team.

The Euregio YOUNG Jury is a project of the Bolzano Film Festival, funded by the Autonomous Region of Trentino-South Tyrol, under the patronage of the Europaregion Tyrol-South Tyrol-Trentino, and supported by the educational department of the German Education Directorate and the Bolzano Youth Service.

Application deadline: 8 February 2027; further information and the registration link can be found in the PDF document.
