The three partner festivals, Bolzano Film Festival Bozen, Euganea Film Festival and Pordenone Docs Fest, with the support of IDM Music & Film Commission South Tyrol, Trentino Film Commission, Veneto Film Commission, Friuli Venezia Giulia Film Commission and together with Fondo Audiovisivo FVG, are launching the 4th edition of Nord/Est/Doc/Camp, the consulting and mentoring workshop for four medium-length and feature-length documentaries produced or co-produced in the north-east. After three editions, the event has established itself as a unique opportunity for producers and authors from the Triveneto region.
Registration opens on 10 December, and the deadline for submitting projects is 5 February 2026.
Nord/Est/Doc/Camp offers feedback, networking and step-by-step training in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Trentino-Alto Adige and Veneto regions. As part of partner festivals, directors and producers are provided with the know-how of selected experts in a series of meetings and workshops in an informal setting. These programme items aim to achieve the maximum potential of the work-in-progress films: from editing to post-production, from festivals to distribution, with the constant goal of consolidating the dramaturgy of the works and expanding their chances of distribution and release.
The project is intended for documentary and hybrid films (not feature films) that are currently being edited and are produced or co-produced by companies from Trentino-South Tyrol, Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia. The films should be longer than 45 minutes when completed.
The first three editions featured 12 projects, including 2023 Lisca bianca – Nata libera by Giuseppe Galante and Giorgia Sciabbica and The Other Side of the Pipe by Marko Kumer, both of which were screened at the Visioni dal Mondo festival in Milan, as well as Vista mare by Julia Gutweniger and Florian Kofler, which was screened at the Settimana della Critica in Locarno and at many other festivals. The projects in the second edition included Noi siamo gli errori che permettono la vostra intelligenza by Erika Rossi, winner of the audience award at PerSo – Perugia Social Film Festival 2024 and distributed by Lab 80, and My Boyfriend El Fascista by Matthias Lintner, which was shown at renowned international festivals such as Hot Docs, Mix Mexico City, Queer Lisboa, First Steps Awards and Duisburg Film Week. Of the projects from the third edition, only The Last Lesson by Andrea Mura and Federico Savonitto has been shown at the Biografilm Festival 2025 so far.
