A pack of strays - seven dogs and one woman - live in the shadows of the city of Moscow. Hidden from the totalitarian authorities, two species share an existence on the brink of disappearance. They roam through a wild landscape in constant restlessness. Shot from the perspective of the animals, the patterns of mutual dependence and taming begin to dissolve.
Elsa Kremser, born in 1985 in Wolfsberg, Austria, studied film studies at the University of Vienna. During her studies at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, she worked as a writer and producer on several documentary films that were screened at festivals worldwide.
In 2016, she co-founded the production company RAUMZEITFILM in Vienna with Levin Peter. Her film SPACE DOGS premiered at the Locarno International Film Festival, won the Vienna Film Award for Best Austrian Film, was shown at over 70 international festivals, and was nominated for both the Austrian and German Film Awards.
Elsa Kremser has received the Carinthian Cultural Award for Film, the Nipkow Fellowship, and the ExtraValue Artist Residency in New York. She has been a guest lecturer at film schools and universities such as the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, HFF Munich, and TU Vienna. Additionally, she has served as a jury member for Visions du Réel, the Zurich Film Foundation, and the Austrian Outstanding Artist Award.
She is currently working with Levin Peter as a directing duo on their first feature film.
