The films of the Berlinale Shorts shimmer in all colours, lay down new tracks in the wide field of cinematic possibilities and reflect the present with the means of cinematic expression. Dirndlschuld uses Super 8 footage to illuminate the narratives of the Nazi past within the own family. Drawn in delicate black and white, Kawauso sings a farewell song to the extinct otter. Ours confronts the male gaze and Starfuckers is a revenge movie of the queer kind.
