GUIDELINES FOR THE PREPARATION OF DCPs | 37. BOLZANO FILM FESTIVAL BOZEN – BFFB

The projection DCPs to be delivered or sent to the BFFB must comply with the following guidelines:

• It is necessary to ensure that DCPs are free of problems; it is strongly recommended to have them made by a professional laboratory.

• For the naming of the CPL (Composition Playlist, see second page of the downloadable PDF below), the specifications of the Digital Cinema Naming Convention apply. This defines how the name of the CPL should be structured, so that the most important information on the DCP is recognisable at a glance.

• Soundtracks: acceptable audio configurations range from 1.0 – 2.0 up to 5.1 Channel-Based.

• On-Screen Subtitles: In DCPs, subtitles must be included as ’embedded’ (OV or VF).

• DCPs on physical storage devices. DCPs can be delivered in one of these three types of hardware: Hard Disk Drive (HDD), Solid State Disk (SSD) or portable Flash devices (USB Sticks). The partition on the storage device must be formatted in EXT2 or EXT3 or NTFS
formats.

• DCPs can also be sent as files via your own FTP servers or web links (WETRANSFER, etc.).

• Please deliver the DCP on a physical storage device or send it electronically by 15 March 2024.

For doubts, clarifications and to send the DCP electronically, please contact the
following email address: dcp@filmfestival.bz.it.
