The BFFB at Locarno Film Festival

On Friday 9 August, the BFFB, in collaboration with IDM Film Funding, hosted a breakfast event at Hotel Belvedere in Locarno as part of the Alliance 4 Development (A4D) initiative. This co-development platform, established by the Locarno Film Festival and supported by the Swiss Confederation and Media Desk Suisse, aims to support film projects originating from Austria, France, Germany, Italy, and Switzerland.

During the event, Vincenzo Bugno (BFFB) and the IDM Film Commission South Tyrol team introduced the new international training program, MASO, which is dedicated to the development of short films. The program attracted over 130 applications in its first edition, out of which 8 project groups will be selected to participate. The selected projects will commence their journey in November 2024, beginning with the first phase at FilmCamp Norway in Øverbygd, followed by a second phase in April 2025, during the next BFFB edition in South Tyrol.
